Word Travels Far...

As a business owner, it’s thrilling when someone I don’t know knows my estate agency on the strength of my website, property marketing material or social media content.
I guess you could say that how I present myself, my agency and client’s properties provides a feeling of trust – a sense that clients will be in safe hands.
The sad reality of estate agency though is that great clients come into your life for all too brief a time.
Research by Zoopla shows UK home owners move on average just once every 23 years.
Moving home is stressful and the agent is there to navigate the path to successful completion and to metaphorically ‘hand client’s hand’ from start to finish. Real bonds can form through the journey but when the sale completes, we say our goodbyes.
I’m often a little envious of my counterparts in commercial estate agency were vendors, landlords and tenants can endure for an entire career.
I’m fortunate and very grateful though that many old clients continue to think of me. How do I know? Well, it’s recommendations.
Word of mouth business is ‘chicken soup for the soul’ – the social proof that what I’m doing really works, it appreciated and they want others to share the same experience.
My latest sale on Hall Road, East Ham is a typical example.
My clients have lived in the property for some 45 years and now wish to relocate to Essex to be nearer family. I came recommended by a previous client whom they knew from East Ham Library.
And that previous client had also come recommended by another old client too.
Whether you’re an estate agent, plumber or builder, recommendations are simply wonderful.
I hope this helps!
