When You're Up Against 6 Other Agents

I’m thrilled to reveal my agency has been picked by the owners of a gorgeous family home in East London as the selling agent for their property.
Nothing unusual there you could say.
But on this occasion, it was a ‘beauty parade’ with 6 other estate agents also invited in for a look around and to dispense advice on value.
Now I should reveal that my estate agency had come recommended by a lovely old client of mine.
But....
The valuation I provided was very much at the lower end of the range of figures they received. One valuation was in fact £50,000 higher.
I was surprised as all the evidence by way of local sale prices and comparable data indicted (at least I thought so) that my numbers were 100% spot.
Had I made a mess, got it badly wrong or was I the only agent going into significant detail on local data?I thought my time was up and my services wouldn’t be required.
After all, one family member advised they really should be going with the agent that advised the highest valuation price.
I stood my ground on my guidance when questioned and I’m chuffed to bits to say they picked me. Apparently I made a compelling case that was impossible to argue with. They said they trusted me.
Trust.
It’s not a word synonymous with the world of estate agency.
Call me old fashioned but trust - giving the right advice, doing a great job and being recommend to others is what my business is all about.
