Sell Or Stay?

The estate agent who tells you not to sell. Yup, that's me - great business model hey?
But, there are times when selling isn't the right option (at least in my eyes).
Take yesterday for example. I was invited into a lovely four bedroom home in East Ham. It ticked all the boxes, large reception rooms, four bedrooms and an attractive garden.
But it lacked an extended, more sociable kitchen. You know the type – central island with bi-fold doors to the garden.
The owners had seen a house with a dream kitchen that I've been marketing and felt that moving seemed like the best option.
I disagreed and told them so.
With some reconfigurment of the downtairs w.c and extending to the side, the could indeed have the kitchen, home and lifestyle they desired. They love the area and the upstairs works for their needs.
Sure they'd considered staying and improving but sounding it out with me has enabled them to commit to staying.
Sometimes, a good architect and builder is what 's needed, not an estate agent.
The new norm will surely mean more of us working from home and our homes must therefore be fit for purpose.
Of course I’d be delighted to sell your home but quite often staying and improving is the wiser move.
If you’re weighing up your options on whether to stay and improve or move, drop me a line - always happy to give my candid advice particualy from a financial perspective.
